I want an STI test

An STI is a sexually transmitted infection, also known as venereal disease. Are you at risk of an STI? Then it’s a good idea to get tested. You can do an STI test at the Centre for Sexual Health of GGD Kennemerland.

When should you get tested for an STI?

  • If you had sex without a condom or if the condom was torn
  • If you have been warned about an STI by a sex partner
  • If you have a steady partner and you want to have sex without condom
  • If you have symptoms that may indicate an STI (changed discharge or pain when urinating). But many STIs have no signs or symptoms.
Are you unsure about doing an STI test? Do the STI check.

Who can go to GGD Kennemerland for an STI test?

  • People under 25 years old
  • Men who have sex with men
  • Sex workers
  • Someone who has had sex against their will

Are you a man and do you have sex with men? Then it's good to have yourself tested for STIs and HIV every six months. You can also get vaccinated against hepatitis B for free.
